MARIJUANA, TOYS HARDLY SAME

In a recent story recounting the arrest of an 8-year old who brought
marijuana to school, Davis Elementary's Principal James Singleton is
quoted as saying, "It's just one of those things that sometimes
happens, like finding a knife in a bookbag or a kid forgetting to take
out a toy gun after a visit to his grandparents or something. Every
once in a while, you have something like that happen."

Certainly Singleton isn't trying to equate marijuana use and playing
with toy guns. I allow my children do play with toys guns, but I can
assure you that they are not allowed to have marijuana -- at home or
school.
