POT LEADS 100% 'TO GREATER DRUG USE'

To the editor:

My home was damaged and my pets terrorized to the tune of $8,500 in a
fire that destroyed a drug house next to me. People on three sides of
me had moved out to get away from the fear of retaliation from those
people. I refused to be intimidated in such a way.

As a senior citizen, living on a very low household income I have
studied the drug problem for 30 years.

When I moved to Kelowna from the Vancouver area, I can say that
Kelowna is much worse than that now.

Where there is crime there are drugs associated. There is not one
block of our fair city that is not affected.

Anyone who thinks marijuana in a young person does not lead to greater
drug use has got their head in the sand.

It happens in 100 per cent of the cases I have studied.

Dr. Paul Latimer wrote a very informative article in your paper
speaking of the effects of marijuana use.

It may be hard to fathom the "Four Pillars" approach, but we won't
know until we give it a try.

The ultimate insult to me came recently where the school board wants
to teach condom use. They won't allow Bible study but considers such
stupidity. If children learn from the teachings of the Bible they
would never have the need of a condom.
