ROYAL DOES HER BIT
Princess Ubolratana gives further boost to campaign which encourages
youngsters to steer clear of drugs
Starting in April, television viewers will see the latest advertising spot
for the "To Be Number One" drug-prevention campaign, presented by none
other than Princess Ubolratana.
The campaign was launched two years ago under the auspices of the Mental
Health Department at the Ministry of Public Health and it is true to say
that the Princess's glamorous profile has made the campaign the talk of the
town, not only with the youth of the country but also among their parents
and grandparents.
The advertising spot and music video, produced by an affiliate of GMM
Grammy, was filmed recently at Bed Supperclub. The catchy song has a
cha-cha-cha beat written and arranged by Pichet Kruawan and Chanachit
Chansuebsri. The song's original lyrics by Chana Sevikul have been retained.
The contents of the new music video encourage youth to reach for their
dreams without having to rely on drugs, while the television spot reviews
past activities undertaken by the Princess around the country to promote
the campaign; it ends with the Princess reaffirming the success of the
campaign and thanking everyone for their participation.
