ARREST THE POTHEADS

I am writing this letter in complete disgust about our justice system and
some of our police. On Sunday (Feb. 29) afternoon I was walking home from
Safeway down the Luckakuck Creek Trail when a couple came up to me and
asked me if I knew where they could "score some bud."

I told them "No," and carried on my way home. When I got there I called the
Chilliwack RCMP, they said they would send a cruiser down there.

Two days later I walked down the trail again, and guess who I saw in the
bushes not 500 yards from where two young girls were playing, and around 50
yards from where people of all ages walk? You guessed it, the same two people.

I went home and called the cops again. They told me that they can't arrest
these people, but they did say that they would send a cruiser down there again.

My question is, is this all a bunch of BS? Did they even take the time to
go out there or were they too dang busy giving a kid crap for not wearing a
stupid helmet while he was doing newspapers, like they have done to me more
then once? Also what do you mean you can't arrest these potheads? What, you
want to wait until they mug and beat up a helpless old lady? And don't you
dare tell me that ain't going to happen, I see it on the news every day.

You wonder why people are taking the law into their own hands? You wonder
why vigilante cops are beating up druggies? Frankly, I would like to shake
them six cops' hands for doing something I think is very proper and I am
probably going to do if something don't drastically change and I ain't
afraid to say it neither.

The police are here to make us feel safe and protect us, so if they ain't
doing that, then what other choice do we have, other then to protect our
own kin and ourselves.

This is a great town and a great country, and we must stop this crap from
happening and keep it great. I like walking down the road and not worrying
about someone mugging me or cutting my throat and God help me, I am going
to keep it that way.

I would like to conclude by using a few words out of Toby Keith's (a
country music singer) song called Beer for My Horses.

It goes as follows, "Justice is the one thing you should always find, you
got to saddle up your boys you got to draw a hard line. When the gun smoke
settles we'll sing a victory tune, and we'll all meet back at the local
saloon. We'll raise up our glasses against evil forces, singing whiskey for
my men, beer for my horses." I say to that-sing on, Toby!

P.S. A few days later I found these people in the bushes at the same place,
but now they're living in a tent there.
