DANGEROUS DRUG RULE
THE Government has softened the cannabis law for people with less than 30g
of the drug in their possession.
We deplore this on several grounds. Where is the accountability? The
Government will be open to being sued by parents and others who are
concerned for users. Cannabis is a mind-altering drug which is stored in
the human brain for up to three weeks. No one in such a state is a safe
driver or safe operator of machinery.
Cannabis may have medically proved qualities, but it should be used only
under strict supervision. No two samples of cannabis contain the same
properties. It is a volatile product and 99 out of 100 samples will exhibit
different qualities.
To use the analogy of alcohol, mixtures of it possess different qualities
and all have differing effects on different people. The same applies with
simple cannabis - it is unreliable and must be used only under strict
medical supervision.
