THE NEED FOR WEED: IS IT NECESSARY?

Smoke a joint for a while and pass it to your friends in front of a
campfire and do it again and again. Getting stoned can make you much
happier than ever and may provide a little escape from reality like
school, homework and relationships. The sky is dark with millions of
stars, and you look up the beautiful sky and take just one more toke.

Why do people make the comparison, of which causes the most damage of
your lungs between cigarettes and marijuana? Why do they argue that
alcohol can damage your brain more than marijuana? Is there any
difference of causing damage in your body by smoking marijuana,
cigarettes or drinking alcohol? Why is legalizing marijuana a big
issue in Canada? Do police catch people who smoke pot? If so, then
Canada needs more jails. Would legalizing marijuana make more people
smoke pot?

The Netherlands legalized marijuana in 1976, and the legalization
increased the number of people who try pot; however, the legalization
didn1t increase the number of people who continue to use it. It1s a
funny thing that America has a higher prevalence rate of using
marijuana than Holland.

In Japan, magic mushrooms were legal and could be found in any
drugstore until about three years ago when the Japanese government
made them illegal. Although magic mushrooms were available, you would
never hear about someone using it. However, Japan is the strictest
country of using marijuana, and smoking pot is taboo.

Canada is making too big deal of legalizing marijuana. This issue has
been argued for a very long time, therefore, people get too involved
in this problem. In 2001, a ruling was made, legalizing marijuana for
medical purposes. With the hundreds of painkillers and other medicines
today is marijuana really necessary medically? It should be if the
person has a disease they have suffered from for years and there is no
other way to ease their pain. A Canadian Senate committee addressed
that marijuana does less damage than alcohol.

Legalizing marijuana shouldn't increase the number of pot users. Maybe
it will increase for short time because people may feel they want to
try a new thing. If marijuana is legalized, people1s attitude toward
the drug will be just like cigarettes and alcohol.
