D.A.R.E. STUDENTS CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY
On Thursday, April 8, students from the Benton County school system will
celebrate with millions of students nationwide as National D.A.R.E. (Drug
Abuse Resistance Education) Day is recognized. It will be the 21st
anniversary of D.A.R.E.
"Since our local schools joined together several years ago to bring the
D.A.R.E. program to Benton County, we have seen a significant drop in the
drug use among our students," reported James Inman, Benton County D.A.R.E.
officer. "This is a program that clearly works. We are thrilled to be a
part of Thursday's nationwide celebration and grateful that our young
people have been given the opportunity to mature in a drug-free environment."
"It's a day of celebration," Officer Inman continued, "A day that each of
my students should be proud of themselves."
The Benton County D.A.R.E. Program is currently sponsored by the City of
Camden and the Benton County Board of Education.
