DRUGS DESTROY SOCIETY, LIVES
More and more lately I've heard people talk about the legalization of drugs,
and quite frankly, I'm shocked. When so many bad things can come of drugs,
there's actually consideration about whether to introduce it into our
society? I acknowledge that the leading crime in our nation is due to drugs,
and I also understand that the crime levels could possibly go down in the
future, but what would that mean if we were destroying our future anyway?
One example would be pregnant women. If pregnant women were smoking
marijuana, then who knows what that would do to their babies? And to a
certain degree, the state pays for some of the disabled and mentally ill
children, so who knows what that would do to our economy?
Of course, that's assuming that women could get pregnant, because marijuana
causes low sperm count.
And that's not even thinking about how marijuana has been proven to lead to
more serious drugs such as cocaine! The reverse psychology won't work in
this instance, because we have too many people addicted to it in our country
anyway. Sure, the crime levels could go down, but what crime, in the long
run, would we be committing to our nation's future?
