Teens Toke With Impunity ... Then Supply Takes a Hit

What do you get when you cross a few hundred teenagers with marijuana? The
munchies. And the cops.

Several hundred young pot smokers puffed away on the front lawn of the
Legislature yesterday to mark 4:20 -- or April 20 -- the day tokers use to
pay tribute their favourite weed. By afternoon, hot dog vendors got wise to
what was going on and wheeled their carts to the scene of the smoke-in.

Police, meanwhile, were close by in case there was trouble. Building
security was not allowing stoned teens into the legislature, where the
House was in session and guides were giving tours to school-age children.

Still, the smell of marijuana could be detected from the front steps of the
building. Many teens walked around clutching bongs, while others freely
puffed away.

Meanwhile, city cops busted a pot grow operation a short time later in the
Maples. About 180 pot plants were seized from 62 Woodcroft Cres. No other
information was available at press time.
