GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE

I'm writing about your thoughtful April 25 editorial, "Cultivating
compassion." It seems that those in our federal government have
forgotten that the government was created by the states and not the
other way around. And our government was created by our people, not
the other way around. The voters of California and several other
states have decided that they want their severely sick citizens to
have access to marijuana as medicine. The federal government has no
rightful authority to tell them they cannot do so.
