PHOTO LEADS COPS TO TODDLER POSED WITH DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
A photo developed at a local Kroger store led Bardstown Police Sunday
to arrest two adults allegedly involved in photographing a toddler
with drug paraphernalia.
The picture turned over to police was of a child about 3 years old
sitting on a table in a pose that looked as though the child was
smoking marijuana through drug paraphernalia called a bong.
After receiving the photo and identifying where it came from, police
went to a Bardstown home and got consent to search. The search
uncovered drug paraphernalia and marijuana, according to Police Chief
Charles David Marksbury.
"I guess it's one of those situations you would think people would
know better," Marksbury said.
Two adults, John R. Gray Sr., 20, Bardstown, and Elizabeth Lyvers, 24,
Bardstown, were arrested. Two children in the home were released to
Social Services.
Gray has been charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug
paraphernalia and unlawful transaction with a minor. Lyvers was
charged with unlawful transaction with a minor.
Both remained in the Nelson County Jail at press time Tuesday. Gray's
bond has been set at $7,500 cash. Lyvers' bond is $2,500 cash.
Mike Sallee, manager of the local Kroger store, would not comment on
the incident.
