LAWLESSNESS RUINS JAZZFEST
I took my family to Jazzfest Saturday and was shocked at the rampant use of
drugs throughout the event.
It has been years since I attended a Jazzfest. I decided to attend this
year when my son visited us from Texas. I was there Sunday with my wife,
son and two daughters, and we witnessed people openly smoking marijuana all
around us. We also saw a group who appeared to be snorting cocaine.
The crowd got fairly rough, and I was forced to take my family out of there
before something happened. Is this really the impression we want visitors
to have of the Jazzfest?
It appeared to me that the police were more concerned with traffic outside
than lawlessness on the grounds. As a native New Orleanian, I am
embarrassed and disappointed, to say the least.
