MARIJUANA: PARK SMOKERS HARMLESS
Dear Editor,
Jim Bugg claims that he doesn't want to get into a moral and ethical
argument about the use of cannabis [Pot use offensive, April 30
Letters to the Editor, Langley Advance News].
However, he makes it a moral issue when he points to two people
harmlessly smoking a joint in a park as an example of "moral decay ...
out of control."
Exactly what harm was caused to Jim and his family, and what "basic
human right" was violated?
That is the sort of hyperbole that contributed to the crime of
Parliament placing cannabis, a beneficial and relatively harmless
herb, on the prohibited substances list in the first place.
