MEDICAL POT GROUP CRASHES KIND PRESS CALL

Congressman Ron Kind clashed with medical marijuana advocates during what
was supposed to be a press conference phone call about presidential politics.

Gary Storck of Is My Medicine Legal Yet - a pro medical pot group - crashed
the press conference call, outraged that Kind has skipped scheduled
appointments with Jackie Rickert, a wheelchair bound terminally ill
advocate for medical marijuana. Storck said, "I'd like Rep. Kind to answer
(why he skipped his meetings with Rickert)."

Kind replied, "Well, I was trying. But you keep cutting me off."

Storck interrupted again and Kind said, "If you want to have a calm
discussion about that leave your number and..."

Storck interjected again, "NO, we've tried that. We've tried to meet with
you for eight yers , sir and you've never met with Jackie."

Kind said, "But my staff has."

Rickert herself then had this exchange with Kind:

Rickert: The other reason I went to your office where I wanted to speak to
you face to face rather than just leaving my number," Rickert said.

And then Kind said, "Well Jackie, I apologize that we didn't have an
oppportunity to meet personally but I'm sure my staff had a chance to meet
with you and talk with you about these issues."

At that point Storck spoke up again but Kind cut him off saying he was
speaking to Rickert now.

Storck replied, "Good."

Is My Medicine Legal Yet is highly critical of Kind's failure to meet
personally with them. The group says Kind has refused to take a rational,
consistent and compassionate stand on the issue of medical marijuana.
