DRUG LAWS CALLED `SHAMEFUL' BY LOTUS LAND READER
Dear Editor:
Interlake Spectator -- Re: "Open-air drug dealers collared in Gimli lot",
Interlake Spectator April 25.
Punishing the minority who sell or use some harmful recreational drugs
while leaving alone the majority who sell or use other harmful recreational
drugs can have no other logical purpose than to entertain the majority by
persecuting that innocent minority.
We would do well, also, to remember that drug prohibition's initial purpose
was to persecute certain non-white minorities by banning the drugs used by
those minorities.
In continuing to enforce this racist legislation, our government is merely
goose-stepping along the path made by Hitler.
Please, I'm begging you, please leave room in any future drug bust stories
for the comments of those like me who oppose our shameful drug prohibition law.
