JIGAWA NDLEA ARRESTS 62 DRUG DEALERS

Sixty two Indian hemp dealers were arrested in a raid carried out by men of
the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), in Hadejia, Jigawa state.
Revealing the arrest 10 members of the Hadejia development circle, sector
command of the agency in the area, Alhaji Junaidu Yusuf Kafur said the
arrest carried out within two months, enable the command to seize several
tones of Indian hemp and other contraband drugs in the area.
He said his men have intercepted large consignments of drugs in various
areas after a serious patrol aimed to fish out drug users and dealers in
the area.
Alhaji Kafur called on the public and other concerned citizens of the area
to assist the command in exposing the activities of drug dealers in the
area as ways of assisting the agency in eradicating the menace of drugs in
the state.
Chairman of the Hadejia Circle, Alhaji Haruna Shehu Babayo, call on the
command to carry out public enlightment campaigns against drug trafficking
and addiction.
He said the campaign became necessary in order to inform the public on the
dangers and risks of drug consumption and trade.
