NPAS LIQUIDATE DRUG LORD

It's payback time. Suspected New People's Army rebels on Monday shot dead a
suspected drug trafficker in Monkayo, Compostela Valley after he reportedly
ignored a warning to stop his illicit trade.

Police said Felix S. Pequero Sr. was attacked in front of his house at
Purok 1B, Mt. Diwata in Monkayo at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday. He sustained six
bullet wounds in the body.

The Police Regional Office 11 said the victim was abducted by the rebels
in February last year. They threatened to kill him if he would not stop his
illegal drug operations. After four days, Pequero was freed by his abductors.

However, the rebels reportedly learned that the victim resumed his illegal
activities that they "silenced" him for good.

The victim's wife claimed that members of the NPA's Front Committee 20 led
by one Ka Jumar killed her husband.
