DECRIMINALIZE POT, SURVEY MAJORITY SAYS
Local News - A majority of respondents to the latest Nugget news
survey believe Ottawa should decriminalize possession of small amounts
of marijuana.
A total of 1,628 votes were cast in response to the question: With an
election looming, do you support the decriminalization of small
amounts of marijuana.
Of those who voted at nugget.ca, 925, or 56.8 per cent, said yes and
703, or 43.2 per cent, said no.
The vote is not scientific but is seen as a way for Nugget readers to
participate in the daily news.
The subject of marijuana possession has been debated in several
countries and is expected to be debated during the upcoming federal
election.
