RCMP NET MAJOR POT CULTIVATION RING

A two-month campaign targeting grow ops in and around Prince George have
netted 28 forthcoming charges and the seizure of 1,800 live plants, Prince
George RCMP announced this week.

A special team of investigators finished the project targeting marijuana
grow operations last week, and recovered several pounds of dried marijuana
and growing equipment like special lights, fans, and pumps.

Police also seized cocaine, cash, stolen property, and guns while executing
15 Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrants.

Police ask the public to be aware of signs a residence is hosting a grow
operation: blacked out, tinfoiled, or boarded up windows; heavy
condensation of the inside of windows, very intense bright lights running
18 or more hours a day; musty or greenhouse odours; excessive
indoor/outdoor electrical wiring; portable generators running for long
periods of time; and extra venting or fans build into walls or roofs.
