WEBSITE TIP CREDITED IN DRUG BUST

Walton Man, 21, Arrested on Possession Charges

A Tioga County man said it was a tip on his anti-drug website that led to a
drug bust in Walton on Thursday.

Steven H. Steiner, founder of DAMMADD -- Dads and Mad Moms Against Drug
Dealers -- said a tip was received on the group's website that led to the
arrest and conviction of Keith W. Moulaison, 21, of 84 Mead St.

"This is just the tip of the iceberg," Steiner said Monday. "There are more
arrests to come. We are asking all the folks out there in the area to keep
their eyes open."

The Delaware County Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at
Moulaison's home, according to a release from the Walton Police Department.

Moulaison was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a
controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. He appeared in
Walton Village Court on Friday and pleaded guilty to both charges.

Steiner said Moulaison's arrest came about through DAMMADD's Operation
America initiative to unite families to fight against drug trafficking. The
group's goal in 2004 is to recruit 50 million people to help fight drug abuse.

"We need your eyes and ears, your voice, vote and your financial support,"
Steiner said. "We are hitting this program from all angles."

The DAMMADD website said that tipsters will receive a reward if a tip leads
to a conviction.

Steiner said the board of directors must meet to vote on an appropriate
reward, but he added that he anticipates that the reward will be $100 to
$250 based on past cases.

This is the second drug bust in Walton that resulted from a DAMMADD tip,
Steiner said. A tip received on the website in October 2001 eventually led
to the arrest of five people on March 18, 2002, he said.

Steiner said to date the program has received 1,376 tips, which have
resulted in 46 arrests and 31 convictions.

The organization accepts tips at its Internet site, www.dammadd.org, and
offers cash rewards ranging from $100 to $1,500 for information leading to
an arrest and conviction. People can also call the toll-free hotline at
(866) DAMMADD.

Steiner's program is designed to forward the public's tips about drug
dealing and related activity to law enforcement officials, while protecting
the anonymity of the informer.

Steiner and his wife founded Dads and Mad Moms Against Drug Dealers after
they lost their son to an OxyContin-Ecstasy overdose in 2001.

Stevie Steiner died from an overdose after partying during Super Bowl
weekend. On the Saturday before the game, the younger Steiner and others at
a party took Ecstasy and snorted OxyContin, a powerful prescription
painkiller also known by its generic name, oxycodone.
