SEVENTEEN IMPAIRED DRIVERS SNARED IN WEEKEND SOBRIETY CHECKPOINT
A Memorial Day weekend sobriety checkpoint in Naples snagged 17 impaired
drivers, police say.
The checkpoint set up at Goodlette-Frank Road and Central Avenue had 367
vehicles pass through it from 11 p.m. Friday to 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
Four others were arrested on drug charges during the checkpoint.
Arrested and charged with DUI were:
[17 names/addresses deleted, ages from 21 - 59]
[name/address deleted], 25, was arrested and charged with two counts of
possession of alprazolam, possession of Lorazepam, possession of
Clonazepam, possession of Diazepam and possession of a New Legend drug
without a prescription.
[name/address deleted], 32, was charged with possession of marijuana.
[name/address deleted], 18, was charged with possession of marijuana and
possession of drug paraphernalia.
A 15-year-old girl, whose name was not released by police because of her
age, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug
paraphernalia.
[name/address deleted], 29, was charged with driving without a valid license.
Two citations were issued for violating child restraint laws, one ticket
was written for failing to use a seat belt and another citation was issued
for an open container of alcohol violation.
