LAWYER CHARGED WITH SMUGGLING DRUGS INTO JAIL
An Oshawa lawyer has been charged with bringing drugs into Maplehurst
Correctional Centre.
The afternoon of April 4, the accused was visiting an inmate at
Maplehurst on a professional visit, police said.
Shortly after, a quantity of marijuana was seized by correctional
officers who contacted Halton Regional Police.
An investigation ensued.
A 69-year-old Oshawa man has been charged with possession for the
purpose of trafficking.
He'll appear at Ontario Court of Justice in Burlington June 22.
