MENTALLY ILL NEED TREATMENT, NOT JAIL
Sheriff Simon Leis says this community needs another jail. We need it
about as much as we need another stadium.
What we really need is treatment for the mentally ill and chemically
dependent who fill our jails, and get no better, thus "the revolving
door" and wasted money. Treatment is less expensive and more cost
effective, and we do not have enough.
