POLICE RAID THREE MORE GROW OPS

City police raided three more large-scale hydroponic marijuana-growing
operations Thursday, bringing to 56 the number of grow operations
uncovered this year.

Police yesterday released few details on the raids, saying the
investigation was still ongoing. All grow operations were located in
residential neighbourhoods. One was on Shalimar Crescent in north Winnipeg.

Similar raid

An officer said police learned of the three houses after a similar
raid Monday at an indoor growing operation in a home on Leila Avenue.
It's not known if police have made any arrests.

Police believe the houses were being operated by an organized crime
ring to grow and smuggle marijuana into the United States.
