DRUG SUSPECT GUNNED DOWN
The body of a suspected drug user was found with three gunshot wounds and
lying in a pool of blood on a grassy and uninhabited field beside the
Mactan-Mandaue Bridge in Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City.
Residents near the place showed to homicide investigator SPO2 Rolito
Jumao-as the body of Elmer Degamo Lucero, 36.
Degamo had gunshot wounds in the right cheek, below the left ear and in the
neck.
Scene of the Crime Operation (Soco) team, led by Chief Insp. Pedro
Magallon, who responded to the place, recovered three .45 shells and a .45
bullet near the body.
Soco officials believe three men were involved in the killing and the
victim was shot at close range.
The police is yet to establish the motive of the killing.
Homicide chief Geoffrey Baguio theorized that Degamo went to the area to
relieve himself. The place is uninhabited and the nearest house is around
50 to 80 meters away and surrounded with high fence.
Baguio said witnesses told the police that three successive shots were
heard between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Sunday night and three men were seen
coming from the direction of the area.
Residents found the body at 5:50 a.m. yesterday.
Degamo reportedly left the place and stayed in Sitio Sto. Nino in Barangay
Basak months ago because of a misunderstanding with his father.
He only returned last week and lived again with his father near the crime
scene in Pajo. OCP
