I WISH MY SON WAS DEAD
A Desperate Grimsby mother today admitted she wants her drug-addicted
son dead - because he is making her life a living hell.
She wishes her troublesome son, Ken Fay Lee, would take a drugs
overdose and kill himself - because of the relentless heartache and
agony he has caused her. Chinese takeaway owner Kwai Lee (48) wept as
she claimed her life was being made such a misery that she wanted her
25-year-old son dead.
She spelled out her despair after her son appeared in court for
repeatedly harassing her.
Mrs Lee, who runs the Willows Chinese takeaway in Wingate Parade,
admitted she was "petrified" of him and feared he would attack her if
she did not give him money for drugs.
She broke down in tears as she declared: "It has really been a
nightmare.
"I just wish that Ken would overdose and die. My life would be so much
better without him.
"I wake up each day and think: 'What are you going to do today?' I
can't sleep at night. I really wish he would overdose."
She spoke out after Lee, of Hainton Avenue, appeared in custody before
Grimsby Magistrates' Court.
He admitted breaching a restraining order originally imposed on
December 11 to protect her from harassment.
Mrs Lee, of Minnow Close, said she had tried everything to get her son
off drugs and believed he had been taking crack cocaine.
"He began drinking at the age of 14 or 15 but, for the last seven
years, started with drugs and just wanted money every day," she said.
"He wanted UKP 100 a day off me.
"He got expelled from Whitgift School. He was always in trouble and
didn't go to school at all after that. I was crying every day. I tried
to help him in every way."
Mrs Lee said she twice took her son for lengthy trips to her native
Hong Kong to help him beat his addiction - as well as to her brother's
in New York and to a private hospital in Harrogate.
"I am petrified. I just don't know what to do," she
added.
"If he comes over here again, I will definitely have to leave Grimsby,
but I need someone to buy my shop so I can leave the area. I can't
just leave."
