THE MARIJUANA PARTY'S STANCE ON POT
The Marijuana Party of Canada is championing the benefits of pot, and
is no doubt happy with a recent Fraser Institute report in favour of
legalizing and taxing it.
However, the Marijuana Party is acting inappropriately. Pot is not the
"elixir" that is going to cure all ills of our society.
Listening to the pot advocates spout the benefits of this drug is like
reading a report on the benefits of smoking by the Tobacco Growers
Association.
Pot is a depressant, inhibits ambitions and makes you stupid (all are
based on personal experience.)
I challenge the Marijuana Party and the likes of Mark Emery to publish
a statement as to the problems of marijuana, how it harms you, how
psychologically damaging it is and so forth. "It is not worse than
alcohol" is not an acceptable response.
It is time for a balanced message.
