WORKERS RAIDED ON DRUGS

Wednesday afternoon, 15 officers and agents of the Marshall County
Drug Enforcement Unit, Albertville Police Department, Boaz Police
Department, Marshall County Sheriffs Department, Alabama Bureau of
Investigation and the ABC participated in a drug sweep of Federal
Mogul's parking lots.

The sweep, according to MCDEU Director Rob Savage, was the culmination
of a three-month undercover investigation originally requested by
Federal Mogul officials.

The company was concerned about possible illegal drug activity within
the Wagner Road facility and approached the MCDEU for assistance.

As a result of the three-month investigation, at Federal Mogul,
approximately five warrants were issued involving multiple counts of
distributing marijuana and methamphetamine.

Two warrants were executed at the plant, one at a residence in
Albertville and two, with the assistance of the Guntersville Police,
in Guntersville. Two additional arrests, involving unlawful possession
of a controlled substance, came as a result of the parking lot sweep
by Albertville's K-9 Officer Chris Jackson and his dog (the younger)
Recon.

Boaz Police Chief Terry Davis said "Officers Leslie King, Scott
Farrish and Clay Johnson assisted with perimeter security and checking
of vehicles."

Arrested on warrants were [delete], 43, of Mathis Mill Road in
Albertville, [delete], 21, of County Road 46 in Crossville,
[delete], 40, of Mountain Crest Drive, Guntersville,
[delete], 35, of Mountain Crest Drive in
Guntersville and [delete], 23, Maple Drive in Boaz.

[delete] was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled
substance (UDOCS) he was released on a $15,000 bond. [delete] was charged
with four counts of UDOCS, he remains in jail on a $2,500 bond.
[delete] was charged with three counts of UDOCS, first-degree
possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of a controlled
substance (UPOCS). She is out on bonds totaling $27,500. [delete] is
charged with UPOCS and out on a $10,000 bond. [delete] was charged with
two counts of UDOCS and one count of possession of marijuana.

Federal-Mogul issued a statement that said, "In order to help protect
the safety and well being of our employees, Federal-Mogul has a zero
tolerance policy on substance and alcohol abuse, and we will make
every effort to provide a productive and healthy working
environment."

Marshall County District Attorney Steve Marshall said, "I have the
highest praise for Federal-Mogul and their example of a responsible
company who addressed the issue of drugs, in the workplace, in an
effort to secure a drug free environment and insure the safety of its
employee's work place."
