5 HELD FOR DRUGS IN PANGASINAN
POLICE arrested five suspected drug pushers in separate operations in two
Pangasinan towns, Senior Supt. Mario R. Sandiego, provincial police
director, reported yesterday. Three of the suspects identified as Edwin
Beltran, 32, of Barangay Bari, Mangaldan; Edwin Advincula y Terano, of
Barangay Lasip Grande, Dagupan City; and Dennis Beltran, also of Mangaldan,
were arrested last June 15 in their safehouse in Barangay Imbarcadero,
Mangaldan by lawmen led by Supt. Harris Fama.
The suspects yielded three plastic sachets of shabu, the marked P100 bill
and shabu paraphernalia.
Fama said they conducted a buy-bust on a tipoff of concerned citizens and
the arrested suspects themselves. He said the three suspects have been
under police surveillance for the past two weeks before they busted the
suspects.
Arrested in San Fabian town were Marlyn Narvasa vda de Caolboy, 47, of
Barangay Nibaliw Center; and Christian Acosta y Cortez, 17, of Poblacion
West, Quirino, Isabela who temporarily lives with Narvasa.
Chief Insp. Genaro Sapiera, San Fabian town chief of police, said Narvasa
and Acosta were arrested after they served a search warrant issued by Judge
Silverio Q. Castillo of the Regional Trial Court branch 43 in Dagupan City
at the house of Narvasa on June 16.
Sapiera said they confiscated from Narvasa a total of 23 pieces of plastic
sachets of shabu and 31 pieces of aluminum foil, four lighters, one candle
and five broomsticks.
The lawmen also seized 51 pieces of plastic sachets three of which
contained shabu.
The five suspected drug pushers are now facing charges in court in Dagupan
City for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Drugs Act
of 2002. They were allowed by the court to post P200,000 bail each for
their temporary liberty.
