Six Petitions Move Toward Ballot

Secretary of State Dean Heller has confirmed that all six petitions to
amend the state constitution, turned in so far, have enough raw
signatures to move to the next step to earn a spot on the November
ballot.

As a result, Heller on Monday ordered the county clerks to begin the
signature verification process.

The six measures would require the Legislature to fund education
before other parts of the state budget, fund education to the national
average, legalize small amounts of marijuana, enact insurance and
legal reforms, and raise the minimum wage.

Clerks now will examine the raw signatures to ensure they belong to
registered voters.
