CHEROKEE NATION MARSHALS BUST ADAIR COUNTY METH LAB
ROCKY MOUNTAIN The Cherokee Nation Marshal Service arrested a suspect
Tuesday, seized marijuana and collected chemicals used for manufacturing
methamphetamine at a home in rural Adair County. The marshals received a
tip about a week ago that there was possible illegal drug activity at the home.
Marshals drove by the house saw the marijuana plants. When they went to the
door, the suspects started running through the house.
Arrested was Wadie Thirsty, 41, who was in the home at the time. A young
man who was also in the home at the time and a woman who showed up during
the bust also may face charges.
A trash heap behind the home was filled with debris and evidence that the
home had served as a methamphetamine laboratory for some time.
A nearby wellhouse contained unused chemicals that could potentially be
used in future meth manufacturing.
Five marijuana plants were growing in the yard behind the home.
The indoor laboratory was constructed on top of a bedroom dresser, only two
feet away from a child's toy box.
The marshal service estimates that it has busted 30 meth labs since last
August.
Anyone with information on illegal drug activity should contact the service
at (866) 456-9224. Callers can remain anonymous.
