PROBLEMS ALREADY
Re: There's no better place for a methadone clinic, June 22.
As someone who lives near the proposed site of the methadone clinic, I
see a completely different side to Kate Heartfield's column.
Perhaps Ms. Heartfield should take a stroll down Somerset Street
before asserting that it is not quite a residential neighbourhood.
There are townhouses, condos, old homes and apartments all in the
congested area.
The intersection of Bank and Somerset is already having its fair share
of problems with homeless and "street" people. Before putting a
methadone clinic right in the heart of where the problem is, let's try
and make Bank Street a safer place for everyone.
It is also important to note that tax-paying residents should get a
say.
