EX-MATINEE IDOL PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO DRUG RAP

A FORMER matinee idol pleaded not guilty to an illegal possession of drug
charge police filed against him at a local court, GMA Network's "Flash
Report" said Monday.

Video footage of William Martinez showed him at his arraignment at the
Pasay City court.

Martinez was arrested late April at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport
after he was found in possession of a "glass tooter," a piece of equipment
used for taking in methamphetamine hydrochloride or "shabu."

Even as he denied taking shabu, the actor tested positive for the use of
what is also known as "poor man's cocaine," and was fined 50,000 pesos for
illegal possession of drug paraphernalia.
