HORRIBLE HIPPIES
A MAJOR correction needs to be made to Ali Al Ahmad's letter to the (GDN
June 23).
Yes, "hippies" did promote free love, immorality and drugs in the US from
the 1960s and 1970s, and their actions disgust me as much as they do you.
However, your facts are incorrect. Today these "hippies" all belong to the
Democratic Party, soon to be led by John Kerry.
Today's neo-cons, Republicans, and President George Bush are conservatives
who are against the "hippies" immoral, anti-religious lifestyles.
