LEGAL BUD NOT A GOOD IDEA

Legalize marijuana says the Fraser Institute; someone is not doing
their home work but instead relying on propaganda to make their decisions.

First, the idea that there would be a benefit from taxes is
exceedingly misleading.

Many marijuana growers don't sell to the locals but across the border
in the United States and, in many cases, for illegal goods to then be
sold up here.

If they were to identify themselves in order to be exempt from raids,
the U.S. DEA would know who they were and would be able to monitor
them and intercept them as they tried to cross the border. No grower
could take that chance.

Finally, let me assure you there have been many who have dropped into
the hole of despair and struggled out when they find that the only way
to go is up. These people do not come forward to tell of their demise
as a result of starting out on the road by traveling the "pot trail"
first.

They are afraid of being laughed at or ridiculed by the ignorant who
have yet to learn the hard lesson. These people do themselves, their
children, their grandchildren as well as their friends and families a
great disservice. I know of them in my community as well as Penticton,
Kamloops, Vernon and Prince George and I wish they would let the
Fraser Institute know how wrong their recommendations of legalization
of marijuana really are.
