DRUG SQUAD CRACKDOWNS ON DRUG DEALERS
BANJUL
As drug peddling increasingly becomes a common psychological pain in
the neck, with most ghettoes bug-ridden with imported dangerous drugs,
Police Drug Squad, intensified its clean up exercise in areas
considered to be havoc drug baron in the kombos.
According to report, officers of the Drug Squad, have started to
launch an uncompromising crack down on drug peddlers in and around
Yundum and Busumbala village, where elders have repeatedly appealed to
the government to help curb the trend, a situation, which had
psychologically ruined several lives.
Sources further revealed that Yundum has been known as a midpoint for
cannabis exported from Cassamance, which are clandestinely trafficked
through the towns, before they find their way into the Greater Banjul
Area.
It is also gathered that most families engaged in drug dealing around
the area, did it out of poverty, which makes it extremely difficult to
affect any policing strategy to put a stop this devilish deal.
