TIME TO REASSESS THE LOCAL ELECTORATE
This is really a letter to Lib Dem councillor Andrew Aalders-Dunthorne
who is quoted in Corridors of Power (EN, June 17) as saying: "Why
would anyone vote for the Legalise Cannabis Alliance and the
Conservative Party at the same time?"
Well, maybe it is because they want to same thing! The LCA election
leaflet that came through my door in Town Close ward stated that the
party's aim was to "create a more tolerant, fairer, multi-cultural
society."
Isn't this what everyone wants, not just the Conservatives?
Maybe, however, it is because Mr Aalders-Dunthorne is still so
unsophisticated as to think the LCA merely represents the long-haired
hippy-style cannabis smoker of the 60's.
To him I would say grow up, and understand the people you are supposed
to represent. You probably have cannabis users in your very
neighbourhood and most of them are good people who lead active,
creative lives. I wonder, in fact, if Mr Aalders-Dunthornemknows
anything about the LCA at all!
