SECOND METH LAB DISMANTLED: TREND

For the second time in two weeks, Abbotsford Police have dismantled a
methamphetamine lab.

On Thursday afternoon, Abbotsford Police and officers from RCMP E-Division,
located a methamphetamine lab inside a home in the 34900-block of Mt.
Blanchard Drive.

No one was arrested.

"The potential for harm for people unassociated to it is huge," said Const.
Shinder Kirk, pointing to the lethal chemicals used to make the drug.

While the number of methamphetamine labs located in the Fraser Valley is
small compared to marijuana grow operations, the drug is becoming more popular.

"Methamphetamine seems to be a growing trend, or a growing drug of choice,"
said Kirk.

The last meth lab found in Abbotsford was located June 29 in an outbuilding
on a Little Road property.
