DANOLI: ROSALES POLICE ZEROING IN ON ILLEGAL DRUGS FPM

ROSALES -- The municipal police will zero in on illegal drug activities in
the town.

Chief Insp. Rogelio Danoli, new police chief here, said this is what Mayor
Ricardo Revita and he talked abou, citing the town's proximity to Urdaneta
City where the illegal drug trade is still rampant.

Police noted that the drug personalities in both areas transfer from
Urdaneta to Rosales or vice versa if police operations are conducted in
either place.

Even if Danoli assumed his post just more than a week ago, his men already
arrested a drug personality in the town.

Arrested on the strength of a warrant issued by Judge Teodorico Bauzon of
the Regional Trial Court branch 53 was Felix Acosta alias Marky, 50.

Seized from the house of Acosta were five plastic bags of dried marijuana
leaves.

The police chief considered the suspect as a street-level pusher only, not
a big-time drug pusher, saying that the operation of Acosta was still
small-time.

Admitting that drug trade in the town is alarming, Danoli said they would
unearth the so-called big fishes behind the illegal drug activities in the
town.

"I will conduct a seminar-workshop with the police force as well as with
the barangay officials to know the real situation in the town," he said.

He hailed the accomplishment of his predecessor Chief Insp. Policarpio
Cayabyab Jr. who arrested several drug personalities during his term.

Cayabyab took over Danoli's position as chief of police of Calasiao town.
