DOJ EMPLOYEE FLUNKS DRUG TEST
AN employee of the Department of Justice tested positive for drug use
and may face grave misconduct charges.
The employee was singled out from the 50 who were randomly chosen for
drug tests conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation.
The random testing was ordered by acting Justice Secretary Maria
Merceditas Gutierrez.
Those tested were 4 from the Office of the Secretary, 6 from the
offices of the undersecretary and assistant secretaries; 10 from the
Office of the Chief State Prosecutor, 6 from the legal staff, 8 from
the Administrative Service, 6 from the Financial Management Office, 5
from the technical staff and 5 from the Board of Pardons and Parole.
The department's technical staff chief, Teresita Reyes Domingo, said
the employee in question would be asked to explain why he was found
positive.
