QUIRICADA, VALENZUELA SHABU LABS SMASHED
POLICE raided two suspected shabu laboratories ' this time in Tondo
and Valenzuela -- and seized 151 drums of shabu precursors and
chemicals yesterday afternoon.
Sketchy reports from the Western Police District said first raided was
an abandoned warehouse at 1753 Jose Abad Santos Avenue and Quiracada
Street in Tondo.
The warehouse was reportedly occupied by Eugene Tan. He was not around
during the raid.
Seized were four drums of alleged precursor materials, strainers,
evaporators, plastic containers and packing materials used in
"purifying" raw shabu.
The seized shabu substances were turned over to the Scene of the Crime
Operations Office in Camp Crame for examination.
Police said Lucia Tan, the reported owner of the warehouse, began to
suspect that there was something inside the warehouse after it reeked
of chemicals.
In Valenzuela City, combined elements of the Anti-Illegal Drugs
Special Operations Task Force and the police seized shabu chemicals
from an abandoned building on Tangile Street, Villa Liwayway in
Barangay Maysan at 5:15 p.m. yesterday.
Recovered from the building, which was being rented by a certain Jimmy
Coo Hou, were 147 drums of chemicals used in the manufacture of shabu.
AIDSOTF chief Deputy Director Gen. Edgardo Aglipay and Supt. Jose
Marcelo led the raid armed with a search warrant issued by Executive
Judge Floro Alejo.
