MARIJUANA GROW HOUSES CROP UP IN APARTMENTS

Officers of the Hamilton Police Drug Unit Green Team are asking
apartment building owners and superintendents to be aware of a trend
in indoor marijuana growing.

Individuals are renting units within high-rise buildings and setting
up marijuana grow operations housing up to 300 plants. The
hydroelectric system is being tampered with through the stove
connection. Police say these connections cause an extremely volatile
situation within the confines of multi-unit apartments due to the fire
hazards they create.

Residents are being asked to monitor and report any suspicious
activities to their superintendent or building manager. For further
