MARIJUANA SMOKE HAZARDOUS, TOO

How are we to trust the new Martin government to seriously address
health care when it is pursuing the decriminalization of marijuana?

Smoking marijuana, like all other types of smoking, is hazardous to
respiratory health, one of the major killers in Canada. This will
further stress an already stressed system.

The fact that the decriminalization announcement came on the same day
as the announcement for the Sept. 13 "Let's Save Health Care!" meeting
is further irony but sadly typical.

If anything, the new health care Canadians need should encourage
prevention and healthy living.
