SCARCE RESOURCES
It's rather disappointing that the Detroit Free Press did not endorse
Detroit's medical marijuana ballot proposal. With all the gun
violence, rapes, armed robberies, home invasions and car thefts going
on in our city, we must use our scarce police resources
efficiently.
Arresting and jailing sick citizens for alleviating their pain and
suffering does nothing to reduce the violent crime rate. A yes vote on
Proposal M can free our police officers of an ugly task and stop the
abuse of our sick and disabled.
