I read your report (Secret soft turn on hard drugs, 26/7). After wasting
the past 15 years trying to help two sons aged 32 and 27 to get off the
hard-drug merry-go-round, I have this advice for other parents who may be
going through the same thing to the detriment of their own health and
sanity. You can't help those who don't want to help themselves. While they
are enjoying themselves in a euphoric state, you are worrying yourself sick.
Let them use their drugs. One day they'll get the shot they didn't bargain
for, we'll cry for our loss, but we'll finally get some peace.
