DRUG TASK FORCE IS A WASTE OF MONEY
The front page story July 27 underlines the inefficacy and total waste
of money that the Summit County Drug Task Force represents.
It also questions if we want to continue living with a sheriff who
thinks Gestapo-type tactics makes sense.
While I have lived here long enough to not be surprised by anybody
being busted for offenses that seem incongruous with their
personalities, I have known the Brudwicks for years and highly doubt
there was a case here.
Whether Sheriff John Minor suspected a methamphetamine manufacturing
operation or not, his tactics were deplorable. He knew where Josh and
Kate were and could have asked for a key.
We must question if we want a sheriff with this kind of ego who wastes
our money in this manner. Yes, it is our money, even though it comes
from exorbitant drug fines.
And one more thing. I hope that your readers who saw the letter of
endorsement from former Sheriff Delbert Ewoldt don't think that such
an endorsement is a good thing. Those of us who lived here under
Ewoldt's regime know better.
