HARDENED CRIMINAL
To the editor:
It was interesting to read Rep. Gibbons' reasons for voting against
protection for medical marijuana users (Review-Journal, July 25). It's
no secret he has never been supportive of our state law regarding this
matter. His diatribe is the standard response used to justify a failed
40-plus year war on drugs. His type of thinking is why we now have and
will continue have an irresponsible drug policy.
Now the terminally ill, MS suffers and people with debilitating pain
can be arrested and harassed by the feds for trying something when all
else fails. Had he voted the other way, these people would have been
exempt from this.
So next time you go visit grandma, who's in prison for trying to
relieve her pain, drop Rep. Gibbons a thank-you note for getting
another hardened criminal off the street.
