POLICE HAVE CAUSE TO MAINTAIN PHONEY WAR ON DRUGS
Re: Prohibitive justice, JULY 28.
Dan Gardner again offers a lucid and persuasive argument. The "war on drugs"
cannot possibly succeed because it is a phoney war. The drugs are on the
street because people want to buy and use them. As long as they are illegal
there will be gangsters to supply the drugs.
Would it not make better sense for the drugs to be in legally licensed
shops? But then the police will have to find a new sandbox war, or their
budgets would be cut drastically.
