GAS STATION WORKER SHOT BY HITMEN
Summary executions continue. Yesterday morning, vigilante hitmen claimed
another victim, this time a gas station employee in Agdao district.
Eduardo Timtim, of Del Pilar Extension, Agdao, an employee of Caltex branch
in Sasa, was the 58th person to be killed this year.
Timtim was driving his Honda motorcycle at around 6:30 a.m. yesterday on
his way to his workplace when three suspects waylaid him at corner of
Tancontian and Sta. Cruz streets in Agdao.
He succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds on different parts of his body.
The suspects reportedly fled on board a trisiboat (motorized tricycle) not
a motorcycle.
On Wednesday, two persons were also gunned down.
Zaldy Adeque alias Father, 26, a stowaway roaming the Agdao area, was shot
at around 8:35 p.m. Wednesday night while he was standing outside an eatery
near the Assumption College of Davao along Cabaguio Avenue in Agdao district.
Reports said Adeque tried to flee towards Villamor Street but the lone
gunman chased him and pumped more bullets on his body.
Adeque sustained four gunshot wounds and died on the spot.
At 12:45 p.m., Rolando Custodio alias Dodong, 31, of Esquatan, Toril
district, allegedly a proprietor of several flower shops in the city, was
killed.
Reports reaching the Toril police station showed that Custodio was standing
near a car wash, a few meters away from their house, when four men on board
two motorcycles arrived and the two who rode pillion simultaneously shot him.
The first burst of gunfire missed, giving Custodio the chance to run and
seek for cover.
He was however trapped inside an eatery where the two triggermen chased him
and shot him again several times.
The victim was rushed to the nearby St. John Hospital but he was declared
dead on arrival by attending physicians.
It was learned that his name appeared twice - Rolando Custodio and Dodong
Custodio - on the list of 500 personalities mentioned by Mayor Rodrigo
Duterte in his television program on October 21, 2001 to be involved in
illegal drugs.
Reports also said the victim was the "Mr. C" Duterte was referring to early
this year as a big-time drug pusher in Toril.
