DOPER PICKS WRONG SPOT

WINNIPEG police have dubbed a 16-year-old pot smoker "the dumb
criminal of the week."

That's because he chose to light up Friday right outside the police
station on Princess Street.

Const. Andrew Zurawsky said a passerby noticed the marijuana smoker
and walked inside to alert the front desk.

Const. James Gauthier stepped outside to investigate and found a youth
with two marijuana cigarettes and about 0.4 grams of crystal
methamphetamine, another illegal drug.

"We were quite surprised to hear that someone was doing something like
that on the police grounds," Zurawsky said. The youth, who can't be
named because of his age, is charged with possession of controlled
drugs.

Apparently, "he didn't know that this was a police station," said
Const. Shelly Glover. "I would say this would be the dumb criminal of
the week."
